Version 2026-08-27.1

Tonic ID Terms

These terms govern the shared identity service operated by Tonic Studios LLC for Tonic Studios applications.

1. Agreement and eligibility

This version applies prospectively to identities created after it is released. By creating a Tonic ID and accepting this version, you agree to these terms. An existing identity remains associated with the terms version recorded when it was created unless a later update is separately presented for acceptance when required. You must be at least 13 years old and legally able to enter this agreement. A parent or guardian must provide any consent required by local law. At signup, Tonic ID checks the birth month and year you enter only to determine whether the minimum age is met; it does not store them.

2. One operator, separate services

Tonic Studios LLC operates Tonic ID and participating Tonic Studios apps as separate services. Your Tonic ID authenticates you across participating apps and may provide your shared display name and profile picture, but each app keeps its own profile, username or public handle when applicable, optional app-specific picture, activity, rules, purchases, and app-specific terms. Changing one service's separately stored profile information does not replace another service's app-specific information. Accepting these Tonic ID Terms does not accept an app's terms, and access to one app does not guarantee access to every app.

3. Tonic ID security

Provide accurate information, protect your credentials, passkeys, authenticator devices, backup codes, and linked devices, and notify us promptly about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity performed through your Tonic ID unless applicable law provides otherwise. Do not share verification links, passwords, authenticator or recovery codes, passkey exports, or provider tokens.

4. Providers and linked accounts

You may create or access a Tonic ID using supported providers such as Google or Apple. The provider account is linked to your Tonic ID; it does not replace it. Provider terms also apply. To reduce account-takeover risk, matching email addresses are not by themselves enough to merge identities.

5. Acceptable use and profile content

Do not attempt unauthorized access, evade security controls, impersonate others, automate abusive requests, distribute malicious code, probe private systems without written permission, or use Tonic ID to violate law or another person’s rights. You must have the rights needed for any display name or profile image you provide.

6. Type Premium purchases

Type may offer Monthly, Yearly, and Founding Lifetime Premium plans at displayed United States dollar base prices. Paddle calculates and collects applicable tax. A billing permission or consent screen alone never charges you or grants Premium; a separate confirmed purchase is required. Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time, stop renewing, and retain Premium only through the paid-through date. Founding Lifetime is non-transferable, one-time Premium access for the life of that active Type account. Deleting the account ends that access, with no transfer, restoration guarantee, or automated recovery endpoint.

An initial purchase, including Founding Lifetime, may receive a full refund when requested within 14 days. Renewal refunds are considered case by case or provided when legally required. A full confirmed refund or chargeback revokes the paid access funded by that transaction. A partial adjustment is held for review and does not automatically grant, revoke, or restore access. These rules do not limit rights that apply under law.

7. Suspension, termination, and deletion

We may restrict or terminate an identity to protect users and services, comply with law, investigate abuse, or enforce these terms. You may stop using Tonic ID and request deletion. For an active paid subscription, deletion cancels renewal and by default is scheduled for the paid-through date so access continues for the paid term; an explicit immediate-deletion choice ends access immediately. Subscription expiry by itself does not delete the Tonic ID. Deleting Tonic ID also deletes every linked Tonic app profile through authenticated service requests before the central identity is removed. Each app removes its active profile and associated app data under its published deletion and retention rules. Local files, exports, user-controlled backups, minimal transaction records, safety records, and other limited records may remain where reasonably required for operation, security, legal compliance, disputes, or purchase recovery.

8. Availability and changes

The service is provided on an “as available” basis. Features may change, and temporary interruptions may occur. We may update these terms and will present material updates for acceptance when required.

9. Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Tonic Studios LLC disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. Nothing here limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Virginia, United States, without overriding consumer protections that apply where you live.

11. Contact and rights complaints

Questions about these terms, refunds, or a good-faith report that profile content infringes your rights may be sent to legal@tonicstudios.org. Identify the purchase or protected work at issue without sending card details, passwords, recovery links, provider tokens, or other authentication secrets. We may remove content or restrict repeat infringers after appropriate review. This contact does not represent that a statutory copyright agent registration has been completed.
